Foundation Set: Happy New Year!

blog4As 2013 comes to a close we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the year that was and lay the foundation for the excitement to come in the year ahead.

We were privy to great growth and exemplary amounts of inspiration here at SOMMA Studios throughout the span of the last twelve months. Our clients were vast, and the projects we took part in, plentiful and varied. In short, there was never a dull moment.

One highlight for us was the collaborative work we did alongside Chinburg Properties. We took great pride in contributing to the renovation of the historic mill buildings in downtown Newmarket, New Hampshire. Our designs and the implementation of those drawings earned the 2013 Preservation Achievement Award for Outstanding Revitalization from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance back in May.

We are so humbled to have been able to participate in this worthwhile effort, and to be recognized for that work is just icing on the cake. Collaboration is the name of the game here at SOMMA. When you have so many talented individuals and organizations in your network pool, the work that is done is invigorating. The finished product adds to the depth of pride that we maintain and exude throughout all projects we take part in. Thank you to everyone that was a piece of our year.

We’re looking forward to what 2014 has in store. We know one certainty that we can share: We’re in the midst of working on an expanded and improved digital presence (thank you Boldwerks!) in the way of a new website, and profiles on such social networks as Houzz – a tool that we’ve used in the past.

Houzz is a hub for anyone involved in any aspect of architecture. Think of a far more intuitive Pinterest focused solely on the home front. From quaint home improvements to the full-scale revamping of that mansion in the mountain that you’re either in, or dream of… Every little detail and idea is present on this site. If you need inspiration for new fixtures in your bathroom – it’s there – From design to product reviews. If you need ideas on what to do with that dead space at your abode’s entrance – transformations are apparent and shared – From blueprints to finished project photographs. Look for SOMMA to develop a profile on Houzz so you can get an intimate look into what we’re working on, and what works well for us. We’ll be sure to let you know when our profile is complete so you can connect with us there!
